Welcome
The Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Alberta was formed in 1973. Over the past thirty-six years, our main objectives have been to encourage and promote the Welsh Pony and Cob breed.
Many have delighted at the breeds' versatility which, has been displayed at Calgary Stampede, Spruce Meadows, many Breed Shows, family oriented activities, and informational clinics throughout the Province of Alberta.
Each year, in August, we host a two-day All Breed Pony Show which features a full slate of classes for all ages and skill levels. The 2011 show will, once again, be held at the Cochrane Ag. Society in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. Membership in the Welsh Pony and Cob Society has grown steadily. We now boast over thirty member families in Alberta comprised of Welsh Pony and Cob Breeders, Pony owners and just plain Welsh Pony LOVERS!
The Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Alberta is planning a fantastic clinic with Wendy Stephens, who is featured on the U.S. HRTV's "America's Favorite Trail Horse" with her Section B Welsh stallion Flying Diamond the Bailef. Wendy hails from Louisiana, USA and has won multiple U.S. Welsh National Championships, is the first woman to win an Extreme Cowboy Race and has won over $18,000 in prize money in Extreme Cowboy Races.
